About

It started as the Canadian Society.

Since its inception, the CCCT has evolved from offering basic support to Canadians on the island into a Chamber that serves the needs of all Canadians and friends of Canada in Taiwan.

Anthony van Dyck, a founding director, has been active in the Canadian community in Taiwan since 2004, when the organisation was known as the Canadian Society. The definition of who it is for has not changed since: all Canadians, and friends of Canada.

Celebration Canada

A Taipei parkLate June17th edition in 2024

Celebration Canada is the largest Canada Day outside of Canada and the largest foreign national birthday celebration in Taiwan, with 9000+ people attending the event each year.

The chamber runs it with the support of the Taipei City Government, and works with the Formosa Cancer Foundation alongside it. The 2024 edition was the seventeenth, at Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Zhongzheng District. The 2026 edition was held on Saturday 27 June at the Taipei City Hakka Cultural Park.

Everything in the family zone is free: a bouncy castle, a balloon and magic show, carnival games, face painting, live music, Canadian food, and a photo scavenger hunt with English clues run with MIT English Learning Centers.

The Maple Ball is the chamber’s premier annual gala, celebrating the holiday season with fine dining, entertainment, and community spirit.

Since 2015, the Maple Ball has proudly supported the MacKay Memorial Hospital Children’s Ward, raising over NT$3 million through the steadfast generosity of our sponsors, partners, and guests.

The 2025 ball, Maple and Mistletoe, was held on Saturday 13 December at the Grand Hyatt.

Christmas 2025 on the ward: cheerful carolers, a surprise visit from Santa Claus, and a reminder that the true meaning of Christmas is generosity, community spirit, and hope.
